Because Texas hold 'em is so popular maybe you would like to host your own Texas hold 'em party. If you put it together right you are certain to have a great time. First you are going to have to get your people together.
First, you'll have to get your people. Make sure you have the right number of people so that everyone can play. If you have the rooms, consider having more than one table.
Besides having ample room you will need a table, poker chips, and some snacks and drinks. This can be done easy and affordable. Have everyone bring their own drinks and bring a dish.
You will need to get a few things in order first. Gather poker chips and a dealer button. Also, this is very important, make sure that you have all of the terms and conditions visibly posted for your tournament.
Even if the party might be among friends, do it anyways. You'll want to keep it that way and remain friends. People can get psycho when money is involved.
Post your blind levels, payout structures and rules so that everyone knows and fully understands the rules. Make sure that everyone can see them! Make sure that they have been advised to read them before play begins.
This will avoid unnecessary conflict in the future. The host needs to make it clear from the start what style of game is intended for play. Will it be a cash game or tournament style?
Will it be Texas hold 'em or seven card stud, and limit or no limit? Can players get rebuys, add on's, or bounties? Define all of your rules in advance.
Finally, how are you to form buy in and fees? Once you have this all situated and everyone is seated it is time to move on to shuffling and dealing. Make sure the new procedures are in place so everything is fair and expeditious.
